DHL parcel too heavy
DHL reports that the weight doesn't match the product, for example: DHL: DHL Paket erlaubt maximal 31,5 kg. Aktuelles Gewicht: 32 kg. (DHL: DHL Paket allows a maximum of 31.5 kg. Current weight: 32 kg.) DHL Paket allows up to 31.5 kg; DHL Kleinpaket up to 1 kg. Shipnovo buys the label for the product selected in the shipping method.
What the message says
The app shows these messages in German. They are quoted exactly so you can match them.
- DHL: Das Versandgewicht muss mindestens 10 g betragen. (DHL: The shipping weight must be at least 10 g.)
Possible causes
- The parcel exceeds the weight limit for the selected DHL product. Shipnovo flags shipments that are too heavy for their shipping method, even in the draft.
- The item or packaging has no weight entered, or the weight is incorrect.
- The weight is under 10 g.
How to fix the error

Check the draft weight
Open the shipping batch draft. Each row shows where its weight comes from, for example “Automatically from items, packaging or shipping method”.

Set the weight for this batch
Select the shipments, enter the actual weight under “Parcel weight for” and click “Apply weight”. It applies only to this draft.

Correct the item weight permanently
Open “Items & inventory” and enter the correct “Weight (g)” for the item. Set the empty weight of boxes under Settings → “Packaging”.

Choose a suitable shipping method
If the parcel is too heavy for the product, choose another shipping method, such as DHL Paket instead of DHL Kleinpaket. Set fixed assignments under “Rules”.
