Address not found for DHL label
DHL rejected the label because the delivery address is ambiguous. No label was purchased. Correct the address and create the label again.
What the message says
The app shows these messages in German. They are quoted exactly so you can match them.
- DHL konnte die Adresse nicht eindeutig prüfen. Bitte Adresse korrigieren; es wurde kein Label gekauft. (DHL could not verify the address unambiguously. Correct the address. No label was purchased.)
- DHL: Ort passt nicht zur PLZ. (DHL: The town does not match the postal code.)
Possible causes
- The city and postal code don't match, often because the buyer made a typo.
- The street and house number are in one field, or the house number is missing.
- A name or street is too long for the DHL label.
How to fix the error
- 1
Open the order
Open the order from the “Errors” tab and click “Edit address”.
- 2
Check the fields
Check “Street”, “No.”, “Postal code” and “City”. Put the house number in “No.” and details such as rear building in “Address addition (optional)”.
- 3
Save
Click “Save”. Shipnovo will use the corrected address for the next label.
- 4
Create the label again
Release the order in the shipping batch as described under eBay shipping label error, then create the label in a new batch.
Common questions
No. The message explicitly says that no label was purchased.
If in doubt, ask the buyer. Don't guess a postal code, or the parcel may go to the wrong address.
Packstation and post office addresses have their own rules. See the page about Packstation addresses.
