Invalid eBay tracking number
eBay won't accept a tracking number, or Shipnovo has already reported a different number for the order. Shipnovo shows the reason in the shipping batch's update.
What the message says
The app shows these messages in German. They are quoted exactly so you can match them.
- Bereits mit anderer Sendungsnummer gemeldet. (Already reported with a different tracking number.)
- eBay benötigt zur Sendungsnummer auch den Versanddienstleister. (eBay also requires the carrier for the tracking number.)
- DHL-Testlabels sind nicht für den Versand gültig und werden nicht an eBay als versendet gemeldet. (DHL test labels are not valid for shipping and are not reported to eBay as shipped.)
Possible causes
- Shipnovo has already reported a different tracking number to eBay for this order, for example before a new label or replacement shipment.
- The carrier is missing from the tracking details.
- The label is from a DHL test account and is not a valid shipping label.
How to fix the error
- 1
Open the update in the shipping batch
Open the shipping batch. If there's a problem, the “Check shipment update to eBay” link takes you to the affected shipment.
- 2
Compare the previous update
If the shipment says it was already reported with a different tracking number, Shipnovo has already sent a different number to eBay for this order. Check in eBay which parcel is actually on its way. Shipnovo does not overwrite the reported number.
- 3
Use a real label
Shipnovo never reports test labels from a DHL test account to eBay. Create the label again using your real DHL account.
- 4
Retry the update
Once the cause is fixed, click “Check pending eBay updates” in the shipping batch.
Common questions
No. If Shipnovo has already reported a different number for an order, it shows a conflict. You decide in eBay which number is correct.
That's not a conflict. The shipment says the order was already marked as shipped on eBay, and Shipnovo doesn't report it again.
The carrier that issued the label, such as DHL or Deutsche Post. It is part of the shipping method used to create the label.
A test label is not a valid shipment. Reporting it to eBay would show the buyer a parcel that doesn't exist.
