Packstation: What you need to know as an eBay seller
Buyers on eBay often choose a Packstation as their delivery address. You can also drop off parcels there yourself. This article shows you the rules DHL specifies and what to look out for when shipping.

What a Packstation address looks like
When a parcel is going to a Packstation, the delivery address does not contain the buyer's street address. Instead, it contains the name, the buyer's Postnummer, the word Packstation followed by its number, and the Packstation's postal code and town or city.
Do not convert or change the address yourself. Use it exactly as it appears in the eBay order. If the Postnummer is missing, the delivery driver cannot place the parcel in the locker.

Which shipments can be sent to a Packstation
DHL lists parcels and small parcels (Päckchen) as permitted. Prohibited shipments include bulky goods, cash-on-delivery shipments, and shipments exceeding the maximum dimensions. Before shipping, check that your parcel falls within these limits.
A Packstation only accepts shipments transported by Deutsche Post and DHL. You cannot use another parcel carrier for this address.
Dimensions, weight, and storage period
According to DHL, the minimum dimensions are 15 x 11 x 1 cm and the maximum dimensions are 75 x 60 x 40 cm. The largest compartment is the XL compartment, and not every Packstation has one. The maximum weight is 31.5 kg.
Once the parcel has been placed in the locker, the buyer has 7 calendar days to collect it. After that, it is returned to you. This matters to you because a return costs you time and shipping expenses. Check DHL's current terms and conditions.
Dropping off parcels at a Packstation yourself
You can also drop off parcels at a Packstation yourself. You will need a shipping label in advance, such as a DHL Paket label. According to DHL, registration is not required for this.
For parcels, you receive proof of posting by email when you drop them off at a Packstation. No proof of posting is provided for small parcels (Päckchen). Keep the receipt as evidence. If there is a dispute over shipping, it helps you with seller protection.
